I'm running the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon to help Sesame Workshop.
While we’re all familiar with the TV show Sesame Street, the Workshop does a whole LOT more. They have a truly global impact; working across 150 countries, serving more than 150 million kids, even in refugee camps. Yes, there are muppets who speak Dutch and Spanish and Arabic. All of them work to help kids learn not just the basics of reading and writing but also to be creative, to solve problems, to gain confidence in who they are, and, perhaps most importantly, to be kind.
In 2023, it’s hard to find any institution that has lasted as long and is as universally loved. If you or a family member, have ever benefited from Sesame Street- remember it came to you FOR FREE, without commercials. Compare that to what you likely pay for Apple TV / AMZN / NFLX / HBO etc. etc. The program is remarkable for sure but it has become a rare American institution. (I did a story for the Newshour a couple of years ago on their 50th anniversary in case you want to check it out. http://tiny.cc/PBS50 ) I've pledged to raise at least $2,500 but I hope you'll help me exceed that goal!
A donation of any amount makes a difference, and I've also got a couple of incentives courtesy of Sesame Workshop: -Donate at least $50 and you'll receive a copy of Sesame Workshop's 50th Anniversary Book -Donate at least $100 and you'll receive an exclusive Sesame Workshop tote bag (What’s a pledge drive without a tote bag? )
